Quick Start Guide

As a risk administrator, you can use the Setup application to quickly and easily set up risk for traders in your firm.

After your firm has been added as a "company" in TT and you've ensured your browser meets the system requirements for accessing the platform, you can login and begin setting up traders in TT by:

  1. Creating a connection
  2. Creating an account
  3. Creating a user

Note: When setting up users, accounts, and connections, you'll need to contact the exchange(s) in each market to obtain the necessary exchange credentials.

Creating a connection

In Setup, you can easily configure the exchange session connections for submitting and managing orders.

Note: You must assign at least one account to a connection before the connection can become active and available for trading.

To create a connection:

  1. Add a new connection in TT
  2. Assign an account to the connection

If no account exists, you can create one using the Accounts tab in the left navigation pane.

Creating an account

An account is required for trading on the TT platform. Account credentials and order routing requirements for accounts vary by exchange in each market.

The Setup application supports tiered risk and account hierarchies. That is, you can create an account for routing and clearing as well as create sub-accounts for that account.

To create an account:

  1. Add a new account in TT
  2. Set up position risk limits for the account
  3. Set up credit limits for the account
  4. Set margin limits as needed
  5. Configure exchange settings for the account as needed
  6. Assign a connection to the account

Note: You must assign at least one account to a connection before the connection can become active and available for trading.

Creating a user

Each trader in your firm needs to be added as a "user" in TT. Market data is also enabled per user. After these steps are completed, the user is able to trade on TT.

To create a user:

  1. Add the trader as a "new" user in TT
  2. Add the user to your company using the invitation process
  3. Set the user's trading or administrative permissions
  4. Enable market data and configure exchange settings for the user
  5. Set up user-based risk limits in addition to the account-based position limits as needed
  6. Assign an account to the user

Optionally, you can also go to the Accounts page and click the Users tab to assign a user to an account
