On occasion, you might want to customize a widget. For example, suppose you consistently open an Order Book widget and immediately enlarge it to show more columns and rows, or perhaps you regularly resize a few of the columns in the Market Grid widget. You can configure the widget as you like it and then save those custom settings so that every time you open that widget, it already has those customizations applied.
To save custom widget settings:
Open the widget you want to customize.
Customize the widget (e.g., change column width, or move a column, etc.).
Right-click in the widget's title bar to display the context menu, hover on Widget defaults..., and select Save as WidgetName defaults.
To verify the changes, close the widget and reopen it.
The widget opens with the saved customizations.
To apply the changes to multiple widgets of the same type (e.g., multiple Order Books) currently open in your workspace, click Widget settings in the right-click context menu and click Save as default in the Settings dialog.
When checked, the Update existing widgets option is displayed. Check this option and click Apply and Save to update all opened widgets of the same type with the customized changes.
To restore the system default widget settings, select the Reset WidgetName defaults item from the WidgetName defaults sub-menu.
From the widget settings, you can customize the cell or column colors in the following widgets:
To customize colors:
Click the box next to an option to open the color palette and select a color. Click Custom to create a customized color.
If you want to save the changes to the widget, while not changing the default widget behavior, you can make the widget a custom widget. Saving your changes as a custom widget, allows you to create different versions of a widget for different uses. For example, you could customize a Market Grid widget one way for treasuries and another way for energies.
