GFO-X Overview

The Global Futures and Options Exchange (GFO-X) provides a UK regulated, cash-settled derivatives trading venue, specifically and exclusively for eligible and professional participants to trade digital assets.

GFO-X is authorized by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and has partnered with LCH SA which will offer clearing of Bitcoin index futures and options contracts traded on GFO-X. This will be made available through a new segregated clearing service, LCH DigitalAssetClear.

Built for institutions, GFO-X provides a cutting-edge platform, providing investors with a secure and efficient trading environment where you can seamlessly hedge and manage your digital asset exposure via our full suite of cash-settled Bitcoin index futures and options contracts.

Matching Algorithms

GFO-X Matching Engine

The GFO-X Trading Platform matching engine is based on a Central Limit Order Book (CLOB) model.

GFO-X Market Depth

The pulsed feed channel publishes pulsed-feed data periodically. It is an order book with at most 20-level price depth.

GFO-X Trading Hours / Trading Sessions

Trading hours - Monday through Friday,

  • London time: 12:30 am UK to 5:30 pm UK
  • India time: 6:00 am IST to 10:00 PM IST
  • Chicago time: 7:30 pm CST - 11:30 am CST

Session timings in UTC

  • 00:25 Start of Exchange
  • 00:30 Open Auction Start time
  • 01:00 Open Time (Futures)
  • 01:35 Open Time (Options)
  • 16:31 Market Close
  • 16:33 End of Exchange (Shutdown)

Supported Exchange Functionality

Exchange Self-Match Prevention

TT has incorporated support for GFO-X self-match prevention. Users can set Participant ID, UBO ID, and cancel mode through TT User Setup.

Note The testing of this feature is pending, awaiting sample participant ID and UBOID from GFO-X.

Cancel on Disconnect

Exchange Cancel on Disconnect is supported at the connection level.

Note Exempting an order from cancel on disconnect using tag 18=k is not supported.

Request for Quote (RFQ)

RFQs received on the market data feed are visible in the RFQ Viewer widget.

Announcement message

Announcement messages received on the market data feed are visible in the Exchange News widget.

Unsupported Exchange Functionality

Block Trades

TT will process Block trades received on the market data BMF feed and display them to the end user. Submission of block trades is not supported at this time.
