Give-ups are used to send trades to other members.
Once a trade has been given up:
Giving-up a trade works in exactly the same way as allocating a trade to an account. The only difference is that the trades are allocated to a give-up account.
Follow these steps to give-up a trade to another member:
Once selected:
If the give-up member accepts the trade, its status will be updated to “Cleared”. Otherwise, the give-up member rejects the trade and its status will be updated to “Give-Up rejected”.
The fields followed by * are mandatory hence cannot be left without values.
Note The Give-In member field columns for HKFE give-ups are usually populated to prevent duplicate Give-ins.
Give-ups can be edited as long as they have not been accepted by their give-up member (trades with “Give-Up Pending” status).
Editing a give-up is exactly the same as editing an order
If the give-up account was changed, the current give-up is cancelled, and a new clearing request is sent.
If the new allocation account is:
Give-ups can be cancelled as long as they have not been accepted by their give-up member (trades with “Give-Up Pending” status) except for LME UNA trades. On LME you can delete an order that is in “Cleared” status without raising an error if the give-up member is “UNA”.
Give-up cancellation requests are also sent automatically when orders in “Give-up pending” status are deleted.
Follow these steps to cancel a Give-up:
The receiving member of a give-up can choose to reject the trade instead of accepting it. In this case, the status of the trade given-up will be updated from “Give-Up Pending” to “Give-Up Rejected”.
